Week 18 of the 2024 fantasy football season features the final slate of games for the year. Picking the best defenses to use in starting lineups is largely based on matchups, especially which quarterback they will be squaring off against. Here are some of the best units to target this week.

The Miami Dolphins defense has stepped up its production in the second half of the 2024 fantasy football season. They have recorded 22 sacks across their last eight games and have forced three turnovers across the previous two weeks, giving them momentum for a must-win game against the New York Jets.

#6 - Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers defense has been one of the best overall units this year, and they also get a favorable Week 18 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. They would be ranked higher this week, but they could potentially rest some of their starters with a playoff spot already locked up.

The Denver Broncos defense will be matched up against the Kansas City Chiefs this week. While this is usually a matchup to avoid, the Chiefs are expected to rest most of their starters. This makes the Broncos an excellent pick in Week 18 against Carson Wentz and an offense filled with backups.

The Baltimore Ravens defense has struggled a bit this year, but they have turned things around in fantasy football recently. Their past two weeks have included finishes of DST2 and DST4 while totaling eight sacks and three turnovers across those two games.

This gives them plenty of upside against the Cleveland Browns with Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who has failed to record a touchdown in his two starts this year while also totaling six interceptions and being sacked seven times.
