A.J. Brown injury update: Latest on Eagles WR for wild card weekend clash vs Packers - Source: Imagn

The Philadelphia Eagles will commence their playoff campaign with a home game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in the wild card round. The two teams met in Week 1 in Sao Paolo, Brazil, where the Eagles escaped with a 34-29 win.

Despite being the favorites to win and advance to the divisional round, Philadelphia will be wary that Jordan Love and the Packers are gunning for revenge and will be hard to put away. They need their stars to step up and secure their place in the next round.

Several, including wide receiver A.J. Brown, have been nursing injuries and could miss the game on Sunday. However, the latest update suggests Philadelphia will have its top threat in the passing game available against Green Bay.

A.J. Brown injury update: Will the Eagles WR play vs. Packers?

According to the Eagles' injury report, A.J. Brown has a knee injury and sat out of practice on Thursday. His absence prompted speculation about his status for Sunday's game against the Packers.

However, there appears to be nothing to worry about. The wide receiver, like most players this deep in the season, is slightly banged up and skipped practice to let his knee heal. He was a full participant in practice on Friday, suggesting he'll suit up and play against Green Bay, barring any last-minute hiccups.

A.J. Brown stats: How has WR fared this season?

Despite missing four games due to injury, A.J. Brown cracked the 1,000-yard mark for the third straight season and the fifth time in his six-year career.

The wide receiver finished with 67 catches across 13 games, the fewest since joining the Eagles in the 2022 offseason. However, he led his team with 1,079 receiving yards and had the second-most touchdown receptions with seven, trailing DeVonta Smith, who finished the regular season with eight.

Brown's exploits earned him a Second-Team All-Pro nod for the third straight season, a stellar achievement considering he missed four games. The 27-year-old's performance will determine how much success the Eagles find moving the ball downfield through the air.

The Packers will put heavy emphasis on slowing him down and will likely double-team him often. It remains to be seen whether the wide receiver and quarterback Jalen Hurts' synergy, which hasn't always been on point this season, will be able to overcome Green Bay's defensive game plan to limit the veteran.
