A. J. Brown has been rather quiet so far in 2024. After exploding for almost 1,500 yards in each of his first two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, he looks on track to fall well short of that mark.
However, he is still well on track to hit 1,000 yards - something that he could put himself closer to doing on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Facing a strong secondary led by cornerbacks Joey Porter Jr., Donte Jackson, and Beanie Bishop and safeties DeShon Elliott and Minkah Fitzpatrick, was he able to do so and lead his team to another victory that bolstered their shot at the NFC's top seed and first-round bye?

Sunday was a good time to be a fan of the Eagles, and of their passing game in particular.
After last week’s ugly win against the Carolina Panthers, Brown was asked what needed to improve next time out, and he was blunt:
“Passing.”
The media took this as a diss towards Jalen Hurts, but he instead seemed to take it to heart. The two were , simply out, dominant in the air. As the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Marcus Hayes put it:
“A.J. asked. A.J. received. A.J. danced… It was worth the price of admission.”
It was not just Brown who embarrassed the Steelers’ vaunted secondary led by Joey Porter Jr. and Minkah Fitzpatrick. DeVonta Smith was also dominant, catching eleven passes for 109 yards and a touchdown. (Hurts himself also scored a touchdown off his signature sneak.)
Their performances more than made up for a seemingly weak day for Saquon Barkley, who failed to cover 100 rushing yards for the first time since last month against the Dallas Cowboys. (He also did not score a touchdown for the second straight game after back-to-back two-score outings.
If he and primary tight end Dallas Goedert can regain their top-tier form, then those five (as well as slot receiver Jahan Dotson) can be a very deadly group come the playoffs.
