Aaron Rodgers injury update: Fantasy outlook and potential replacements for the Packers QB

Green Bay Packers v Washington Commanders
Green Bay Packers v Washington Commanders

Aaron Rodgers is the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers is the reigning (and back-to-back) league MVP, however, the Packers have been disappointing this season.

Throughout the campaign, Rodgers has battled numerous niggling injuries, limiting his productivity. The most recent of which was an oblique injury sustained in Week 12. Green Bay fans initially feared that their shot caller would miss the next game against the Chicago Bears. But we all know how Rodgers loves playing in Chicago. Rodgers played in the game and led the Packers to a comeback win.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are currently enjoying their bye week. As such, the league MVP will get some much-needed rest in preparation for Week 15's game against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Los Angeles Rams. Rodgers is also struglling with his thumb, but will be ready after the bye week.

Aaron Rodgers' fantasy outlook for the remainder of the season

Aaron Rodgers has been one of the best quarterbacks of the past half a decade or so. Unfortunately, this season hasn't been the best, as Rodgers has been battling injuries. This has greatly affected his fantasy performances.

He had another disappointing fantasy day in Week 13. He has thrown for under 230 passing yards in his last four games and has thrown for 255 yards only once this season. This season, Rodgers has recorded 2,864 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 13 games.

Realistically, you need to look for other quarterbacks in fantasy as Rodgers is not putting up big points this campaign.

You could safely bench Rodgers for the remainder of the season. Obviously there isn't a plethora of reliable QBs to pick up, however, there are some streaming options to consider.

Potential QB streamers to replace Aaron Rodgers

The main man in Week 14 is Tyler Huntley at the Baltimore Ravens. He replaces the injured Lamar Jackson and is a threat with his legs. The problem is that someone else in your league will likely have picked him up by now. If not, you should do so immediately and potentially start him this week. There's also a chance he will be starting for multiple games.

Jared Goff could be available and though is prone to the odd interception, has been quite reliable this season. It feels like the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings game will be a shootout and it's always good to have your QB involved in one of those.

Russell Wilson is a name that you don't see often as a good pickup this season. However, the Denver Broncos face the Kansas City Chiefs and if they are to avoid a 30 point drubbing, they are going to have to get into the endzone on multiple occasions. He is a risk, granted, but he is certainly better than Aaron Rodgers on a bye week.

Mike White at the New York Jets completes our hattrick of QBs in a potential divisional shootout. the same rules apply to him as with Wilson and Goff.
