The New York Jets have been disappointing this season, and Aaron Rodgers, the team's 40-year-old starting quarterback, is now starting to pile up more injury concerns.

Despite not missing a single game this season, Rodgers has been listed on the Jets' injury reports due to knee and ankle issues.

Rodgers, who made only one appearance for the Jets during the previous season, said that his knee was swollen after the team played against the Minnesota Vikings in London. Ahead of New York's Week 8 road game against the New England Patriots this Sunday, it looks like the seasoned signal caller is already battling another injury.

Rodgers is struggling with a hamstring injury that developed during the team's most recent game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said on Wednesday. Ulbrich added that Rodgers' movement might have also been affected by the injury.

Rodgers' hamstring issue doesn't sound significant, so it's likely that he won't miss any games. Having said that, if Rodgers is unable to play on Sunday in what is effectively a crucial game for a team that has lost four straight, it would be a huge setback for the Jets.

The Jets will do everything in their power to keep Rodgers healthy as he appears to be the one thing that will give them the chance to make the postseason run they want.

Exploring Aaron Rodgers' performance this season so far

Aaron Rodgers hasn't looked like himself since he returned to the field this season, more than a year after suffering a torn Achilles. He has already thrown seven interceptions in as many games this season, the most he has had through seven games since 2010. Furthermore, he has the lowest passer rating of his career at this stage of the season (82.2).

To be fair, it takes time for players to get back to their maximum effectiveness after recuperating from an Achilles injury. Perhaps things will get better sooner rather than later once the team's new wide receiver, Davante Adams, settles in.

After going 2-3 to start the season, the Jets made the decision to dismiss head coach Robert Saleh and name Jeff Ulbrich as the interim head coach. They have lost two more games since they made the move.

With the Jets currently at 2-5, Aaron Rodgers must start playing at his best starting this week against a New England Patriots side with only one win, if they want to hold onto the small postseason hopes they have left.
