Aaron Rodgers labelled “runaway bride" as Jets play chicken amidst Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard links

Green Bay Packers v Washington Commanders
Is Aaron Rodgers actually going to be traded?

Aaron Rodgers is almost a New York Jet, but he hasn't been traded yet. In fact, he hasn't even made a decision on playing or retiring yet, though retirement seems entirely implausible now. Still, he's currently a member of the Green Bay Packers despite reports saying a trade is imminent.

The Jets are trying their best to get him, even going so far as to try and add his former friends and pass-catchers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb. NFL analyst Kay Adams believes that Rodgers might be messing around, going so far as to call him a runaway bride.

Adams said:

"Can you trust that you have a deal done if you don't actually have a deal with Aaron? He's a different character, he's got a little runaway bride vibe going on sometimes. I want him inking the deal before I know what's going on... I don't think any of [the free agent quarterbacks] are going to satisfy what has been a fervor for this New York Jets fanbase fantasizing, agonizing, drooling over whether or not they're going to get Aaron Rodgers."

To Adams' credit, Rodgers has always been a bit impulsive and indecisive. He recently said he wanted to leave the Packers or retire before signing a massive extension, so what he says one day might not be true later.

It also appears like he is the one holding up a potential trade to the Jets because he's indecisive. Still, the Jets have gone all out in their pursuit and don't appear ready to stop.

Will Aaron Rodgers get traded?

Reports surfaced yesterday that a deal for Aaron Rodgers to go to the New York Jets was done. It hasn't happened yet, but many insiders believe the framework of a trade has been discussed at length and is essentially agreed to.

The only thing that matters now is what Rodgers decides. He could decide he wants no part of New York, which completely derails the entire thing. He could also retire, leaving the Jets and Packers lost.

In all likelihood, Rodgers will be a Jet sooner rather than later, though.
