Adrian Peterson is a professional American footballer who plays as a running back in the National Football League (NFL). Peterson's professional career started in the year 2011 when he was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round with the seventh overall pick of the NFL draft 2007.

Peterson had high expectations for himself and he started his debut season against the Atlanta Falcons and in the following game, he ran for 103 yards on 19 carries. He repeated his great performance all through the first three games and for his performance in those three games he was named as the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month. In a game against the Chicago Bears, he had a career-altering performance in which he recorded 224 rushing yards on 20 carries. After continuing with his great performance during the season he broke all his records and won the 2008 NFL Pro Bowl MVP award. In the subsequent seasons, he repeatedly showed the world how good he is and was named the best running back in the NFL.

In the 2011 season, he signed a deal worth $96 million for seven years with the Vikings. In a game against the Arizona Cardinals, he set a new franchise record of three touchdowns he also won many awards all through the season such as the NFL Most Valuable Player award and the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award and was ranked fourth by his team members in the list of Top players of NFL 2014. Peterson scored his one hundredth career touchdown in a game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Peterson signed a deal of two years with the New Orleans Saints worth $7 million and in a game against his former team Minnesota Vikings, he made his team debut. The Saints traded him to the Arizona Cardinals in 2017 and in 2018 he signed a one-year deal with the Washington Redskins where he moved into the Top 10 on the career rushing yards list with 12,372 yards. After that, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks practice squad and played only one game against the San Francisco 49ers where in the following game he scored a rushing touchdown. He became a free agent in 2022.

Before his journey in the NFL began Sherman played college football at Oklahoma from 2004 to 2006. In his freshman year in 2004, he broke many NCAA freshman rushing records. In the second year of college, he had a broken foot that limited his playing time. In a 31-15 victory game against Tulsa, he had a remarkable performance with 220 rushing yards and three touchdowns. In the 2006 season, his father Nelson was released from prison and he watched him play for the first time against Iowa State.

Peterson has six kids and his two-year-old son passed away on October 11, 2013. He weighs around 100 and is 6 feet 1 inches tall with physical attributes like these and the skills that he possesses there is no doubt that he is one of the best running back of all time.
