QB rankings for AFC Divisional round

The AFC bracket for the NFL Playoffs is down to the final four teams. The Baltimore Ravens will face off against the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Houston Texans in the divisional round this week. The two winners will then play next week to determine which team will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this year.

One of the most intriguing factors for this conference is the elite quarterbacks that are still remaining, representing some of the best overall players in the NFL. Here are how the four of them stack up in the power rankings this week for the position.

#4 - CJ Stroud

CJ Stroud has helped the Houston Texans reach the NFL Playoffs in each of his two career seasons so far. He has also now won a playoff game in both of them as well, demonstrating his ability to elevate his game in the postseason.

Despite his impressive start to his career, Stroud still has the least experience of any of the four remaining quarterbacks in the conference. He did make it to the AFC championship game last year, so it will be interesting to see if he can at least match that this season.

#3 - Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes is unquestionably the most successful quarterback currently active in the entire NFL. He has already won three Super Bowl rings with the Kansas City Chiefs as they are also seeking to become the first three-peat winners in NFL history this year.

If the power rankings were based on career accolades, Mahomes would blow away the competition, but he did have a bit of a down year statistically. He still helped the Chiefs to a 15-2 record while still being the most dangerous and experienced quarterback in the playoffs.

#2 - Josh Allen

Josh Allen put together arguably the best season of his entire career this year with the Buffalo Bills. Despite losing his top two wide receivers during the offseason, he is still among the favorites to be named the NFL MVP and earned the two-seed in the AFC playoffs for his team.

The only thing missing from Allen's career so far are the prestigous accolades as most would agree that he is the best player in the NFL to have never won a Super Bowl ring or MVP award. He has a legitimate chance to add both of those to his career resume this year.

#1 - Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson has already won two NFL MVP awards with the Baltimore Ravens and is currently the other favorite to win it again this year. His spectacular season included leading the NFL in many different categories, such as his career-high passer rating.

He also turned in his best playoff result last year when he made it to the AFC championship game, so he is seeking to take it a step further this year. Winning a ring is likely the only thing currently holding him back from the conversation among the most legendary quarterbacks ever.
