Keller, who played in five seasons for Gang Green, was a part of the Miami Dolphins roster last season. During the preseason, he suffered a nasty leg injury, tearing his ACL, MCL, and PCL, while dislocating his leg. He would sit out the entire 2013-14 season.
Dustin Keller’s representatives say he’s back in football shape and ready to join a new team, as the Dolphins did not re-sign the veteran tight end.
As a fit for the Patriots, Dustin Keller makes since. Their top tight end, Rob Gronkowski, has battled injuries since coming into the league, and they have have had another void on at the position since Aaron Hernandez was charged for murder.
In Dustin Keller’s best season with the Jets (2011), he accumulated 815 yards on 65 receptions and five touchdowns, while playing in 12 games.
