The Kansas City Chiefs sit firmly on top of the Power Rankings entering Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season. They are the only remaining undefeated team this year, and considering they have won each of the past two Super Bowls, they are the clear choice for the No. 1 spot. Every other team in the conference has at least two losses, so they all have work to do if they want to catch the Chiefs.

Sportskeeda's NFL Playoff Predictor expects six of the seven teams that own a postseason spot in Week 9 to hold onto it by the end of the 2024 season. The one team that the tool has falling out of the playoffs is shockingly the Baltimore Ravens. The predictor believes that the Indianapolis Colts will eventually steal a spot, despite both of them being projected to finish with a 10-7 record.

The Denver Broncos are also predicted to end the season with a 10-7 record, but they also get the edge in tiebreakers over the Ravens for one of the wild-card spots. This interestingly puts three teams from the AFC West into the NFL playoffs and just one team each from the North and East. This means that the New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals are also expected to miss out on the postseason.

The Jets have gone all-in for this season, including trading for Davante Adams to join Aaron Rodgers in hopes of competing for a Super Bowl. The Playoff Predictor doesn't see that as the outcome this season and even has the Jets finishing with a disastrous 7-10 record. This is identical to the Bengals, who have also been one of the most disappointing teams this season.
