AJ Dillon Injury: What happened to the Packers' RB? Return timeline explored for Week 16

Temple v Boston College
AJ Dillon goes off injured for BC

AJ Dillon is as solid as they come, and the Green Bay Packers running back has never complained about playing in a pass-first offense. Instead, Dillon has made himself open for the occasional handoff from Aaron Rodgers, which has helped the Packers' general play.

Dillon has been a member of the Packers backfield since he was signed out of Boston College, and his skillset comes in handy in clutch time. Last season was eye-opening, as AJ Dillon proved he wasn't a mere one-trick pony. He served as a threat both as a catcher and a rusher, putting up touchdowns in both departments.

The 2022 NFL season was going on in the same manner until he was struck down with a concussion during his impressive performance against the Los Angeles Rams.

Dillon was fantastic in the game, rushing for two touchdowns and making a mockery of the Rams' rush defense. He, unfortunately, had to exit the game following a concussion, as per league concussion protocols.

As such, Dillon's return could be considered questionable at this time, but we will keep you updated until the Packers' Week 16 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

AJ Dillon's Fantasy Outlook

AJ Dillon is part of a dynamic backfield at Green Bay, consisting of him and RB1 Aaron Jones. Both he and Jones have been largely impressive this season, helping relieve Aaron Rodgers of throwing stress every now and then. Dillon has been particularly impressive in the past few weeks as he shakes off some early-season rust.

Dillon exited the Packers' Week 15 game late in the second half and did not resume action. He played well before going down, rushing for two touchdowns on the night. We will keep you updated about the Boston College alum's availability for the next match week.

How is AJ Dillon performing this season?

Dillon has been relishing his bigger role in the Packers' offense, largely due to Aaron Jones' dwindling form and injury issues. The third-year back has played in every game in the 2022 NFL season as he looks to make it back-to-back seasons of appearing in all 17 fixtures.

This season, Dillon has put up a stat line of 143 rush attempts, 624 rushing yards and three touchdowns in 14 games.
