Solomon Alijah Lewis Vera-Tucker is a professional American Football player who plays as a guard for the New York Jets in the NFL. Vera-Tucker was selected by the New York Jets as their 14th choice in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. During his first campaign, he recorded 1,026 snaps while starting 16 games at left guard along with that he was also named to the PFWA All-first Team. The next season, Vera-Tucker was chosen to start at right guard, but he switched positions twice before being placed on injured reserve in Week 7. Vera-Tucker participated in five games in 2023 and finished with 250 snaps. The Jets exercised Vera-Tucker's contract's fifth-year option in April 2024.
Vera-Tucker made a college football commitment to the University of Southern California. After redshirting through his true freshman season, Vera-Tucker was the starting right offensive guard in all 12 games in 2018. He had a fantastic season in 2019, earning spots on the AP All-Pac-12 first team, the Phil Steele All-Pac-12 third team, the Pro Football Focus All-American third team, and the All-Pac-12 second team. He also won the USC Offensive Lineman of the Year award in 2020. In 2020, Vera-Tucker was named to the Pro Football Focus All-Pac-12 first team, the Phil Steele All-Pac-12 first team, the All-Pac-12 first team, and the 2020 Phil Steele All-American honorable mention list in addition to that he also received the 2020 Morris Trophy. Vera-Tucker graduated from Bishop O'Dowd High School as a senior, where he was recognized as an Under Armour All-American, prior to deciding to attend USC.
