Allen Lazard is an American Football wide receiver for the New York Jets as of 2024. The 6 ft 5 in wideout went undrafted in the 2018 NFL draft and later signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent. Revisiting the early years of Lazard’s life, he was born in Des Moines, Iowa. Before his journey in the NFL began he played college football with the Iowa State Cyclones football team at Iowa State University. In his freshman year in 2014, he started 11 of 12 games and finished second on the team in receptions and receiving yards. He finished his freshman season with 45 receptions, 593 yards, and three touchdowns and was named to the All-Big 12 honorable mention team.

In his sophomore year, he started each game for the Cyclones and ranked fifth in the Big 12. In 2016, he had a breakout season where he broke the school record for 100-yard receiving games and also became the fourth player in school history to record a 1,000-yard season. Lazard finished the season with three straight 100-yard games against Kansas, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. Lazard continued his brilliant performance throughout his college career where in his senior year in 2017 in a game against LSU he caught six passes for 106 yards. After his successful college career, he announced that he would be entering the NFL draft in 2018.

In April 2018 Lazard signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent. He was waived in September 2018 and was signed to the practice squad the next day. In December 2018 the Green Bay Packers signed Lazard from the Jaguars' practice squad. In the 2019 season in a match against the Detroit Lions, he made his official NFL debut. In the following game, he recorded his first touchdown in the NFL. Lazard was able to continue his dominant performance throughout the entire season and finished his debut season with 35 receptions for 477 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. His sophomore season in 2020, saw him produce at the same rate as the previous year.

By 2021, he elevated his game further by finishing the year with 40 receptions for 513 yards and eight touchdowns. 2022 was his breakout season as he hauled in a career-best 60 receptions for 788 yards (also career-best). After his successful run with the Green Bay Packers, Lazard signed a new four-year deal with the New York Jets worth $44 million in 2023.
