Allen Lazard is returning to the field after picking up an injury that kept him sidelined since Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season. The wide receiver was placed on injured reserve ahead of their upset 21-13 win over the Houston Texans with a chest injury.

New York couldn't win more games after that duel and is now one of the season's most disappointing teams, especially after losing the three games that followed the Texans matchup. The Jets are facing the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, and fans wonder if Lazard will be available for the contest.

This week was crucial for Lazard's return after the period he was required to spend on IR (four weeks) finished. He started the week as a full participant in Wednesday's practice, showing positive signs ahead of a potential return to the field. He was a full participant in both Thursday and Friday's practice sessions, having no designation for the Dolphins game.

Even so, the Jets hadn't made a roster move involving Lazard. According to insider Jordan Schultz, the New Yorkers have activated Lazard from IR. This is major for the Jets, even though they have a strong wide receiver room.

On the other side, the Jets ruled out star running back Breece Hall for the Dolphins game.

Allen Lazard can be a solid option as WR3 for fantasy managers this week. The wide receiver is projected to be targeted three times by ESPN, potentially catching two passes for 22 yards, zero touchdowns and a total production of 5.08 fantasy points.

For the season, Lazard has caught 30 passes for 412 passing yards and five touchdowns.

Despite being pretty much out of the playoff race, the Jets still have chances to finish the season on a strong note. After facing the Dolphins, they will clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars, LA Rams, Buffalo Bills and then the Dolphins again.

The Jets are likely to go through some changes in the offseason, with Aaron Rodgers reportedly on his way out of the Jets after a disappointing season. Following the release of Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas as head coach and general manager, respectively, the Jets are set to start over and try to compete with a different project.
