Where is Amon-Ra St. Brown from?
Amon-Ra St. Brown

Amon-Ra St. Brown is a wide receiver in the NFL who was drafted in 2021 in the fourth round by the Detroit Lions franchise. St. Brown, currently playing in his third season, has become the de-facto number-one receiver for the Lions despite his young age of 24 years. His performances since his rookie year and especially in the 2023 season have helped the Lions team reach new heights.

Amon-Ra St. Brown played his high school football at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California where he displayed a high level of talent. He was considered the second-best wide receiver prospect and was a five-star recruit.

He then decided to join the University of Southern California (USC) for his higher education where he spent three years from 2018 to 2020. At the time, he played on the USC Trojans football team where he received consistent game time from his freshman year. In three years of college football, St. Brown finished with 2,270 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns. His junior year was cut short to just 6 games due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Nationality

St. Brown was born in Anaheim Hills, California, which by birth makes him an American by nationality. His father, John Brown is also an American while his mother Miriam Brown has German roots. While it is not known whether she holds an American citizenship or a German one, the Lions star wideout has a mixed family background.

St. Brown is the third of three brothers and was born into an athletic family. His father was a professional bodybuilder and won the Amateur Mr. Universe in 1981 and 1982 as well as the Mr. World on three separate occasions.

Both of Amon-Ra’s older brothers also played collegiate football with his oldest brother, Equanimeous St. Brown is currently playing with the Chicago Bears.

Amon-Ra St. Brown 40-yard Dash

As per the NFL Combine, St. Brown has a 40 time of 4.59 seconds. As far as wide receivers are concerned, St. Brown has a low 40 time as the average for NFL wide receivers is around 4.48 seconds.

Nevertheless, the Lions' pass catcher has good route-running skills and knows how to get himself open. What he lacks in flat-out speed is then made up for by his ability to hold on to catches and make the tough contested receptions more often than not.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Height

St. Brown stands at a height of 6 ft 0 in (1.83 m) which is around the average height for an NFL wide receiver. Since he has a similar height to other NFL receivers as well as cornerbacks and safeties, making plays against the defense does not pose too many challenges for him.

His athletic ability allows him to win the contested balls and his height is sufficient enough to make some difficult overhead receptions as well. Currently, St. Brown is getting more and more recognition in the league as he continues to develop and is seen by many among the elite receivers in today’s game.
