Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had a down game against the LA Rams in Week 1, but his team still prevailed in overtime. Brown bounced back and had a strong showing in Week 2 as he caught 11 passes for 119 yards on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the Lions lost.

The standout receiver appeared to have sustained a leg injury during the game, and he looked to be in significant discomfort during the game's last drive.

Let's explore what happened to St. Brown in the Lions’ NFL Week 2 game and if his injury will have long-term implications.

Amon-Ra St. Browns' injury update: What happened to the Lions' WR?

Amon-Ra St. Brown took several hits during the game on Sunday and eventually hobbled out of the Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, he won't have any long-term issues according to Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell's statement to the reporters following the game.

ESPN's Adam Schefter also posted an update on X on Monday about St. Brown's injury.

Cramps can easily be fixed, but contusions can cause a variety of problems. Some are minor and can be treated immediately, while others are more severe and cause more discomfort.

St. Brown received multiple hits to his legs during the Week 2 game and needed treatment from Lions trainers twice.

St. Brown fell following a hit from Buccaneers safety Christian Izien with four minutes remaining in the third quarter. After rejoining the game, he seemed to be fine until towards the end of the fourth quarter when the Lions attempted to rally for a comeback touchdown. He started to limp once more and eventually exited the game.

Since the Lions don't have a weekday game this week, Amon-Ra St. Brown will have a full week to recover before Detroit faces the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3 this coming Sunday. That said, St. Brown will likely be a limited participant in training this week so that he will be fully recovered for the next game.

We should get a clearer understanding of the receiver's status on Wednesday when the Lions return to the practice field.
