The Lions and the Packers will play for more than pride in Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season and wide receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jayden Reed will prove crucial to their team's chances.

This is a crunch match for both teams. Detroit is leading the NFC with an 11-1 record but the Eagles and the Vikings are just a game behind. Green Bay will bring a 9-3 record with them knowing that they can pull closer to their opponents by getting a win.

The NFC North is proving to be a particularly fascinating division as the Lions, Packers, and Vikings can all win it along with their conference. With the franchises that do not finish top having to go on the road, this is a crucial matchup even without the added context of this being a divisional rivalry.

Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jayden Reed will be indispensable for Jared Goff and Jordan Love, respectively, if they are to win this clash. We look at their fantasy projections for this week below.

Is Amon-Ra St. Brown a good pick in Week 14?

Amon-Ra St. Brown has 820 yards in 76 receptions this season for an average of 10.8 yards per catch. He has nine touchdowns to go with that. All of those scores came in a period from Week 3 to Week 11 when he scored a touchdown in every game he played in. The highlight was a 161-yard two-score game against the Jaguars.

In his last two games, he has not taken the ball into the endzone, though. However, his total yardage is still steady as he had at least 60 receiving yards in the last two weeks. Against the Bears in Week 13, his average of 14.6 yards per catch was his joint-best for the season. Fantasy Football managers can consider him as a steady player who can contribute in Week 14.

Is Jayden Reed a good pick in Week 14?

While Amon-Ra St. Brown has struggled to get in the endzone in the past few weeks, Jayden Reed has had no such problems. In fact, in last week's win against the Dolphins, he had two receiving touchdowns. That brought his total up to six for the season.

His last three games have seen him average in the 20s for total receiving yardage. But four weeks ago, he had his best game of the season against the Lions, the Packers' Week 14 opponents. He had 113 yards in that match and Detroit will be wary of giving Jayden Reed the kind of space they did last time. Overall, he has 693 yards in 44 receptions for an average of 15.8 yards per catch.

Whom should I start between Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jayden Reed in Week 14?

With Jayden Reed scoring more touchdowns in recent weeks and having his best game against the Lions a few weeks ago, Fantasy Football managers might be tempted to go for him. On the other hand, Amon-Ra St. Brown is a more consistent producer on the field and some might lean towards picking him. With so many variables to consider, we let Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer tool do the job and make the choice for us.

The Lions receiver comes out on top as he is expected to get more yards, which is not a surprise. Also, given his overall record of having more touchdowns than his Packers counterpart this season, we can consider the last two games part of a lean spell from which the Detroit star can rebound. Therefore, Amon-Ra St. Brown emerges as the choice over Jayden Reed for Week 14.
