Andrei Iosivas Week 4 Fantasy Waiver Wire: Should you add Bengals WR?

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Andrei Iosivas caught the eye of fantasy football managers after his Week 3 performance against the Washington Commanders. Although his team lost the game, Iosivas was arguably one of the biggest winners. Should managers buy in on the wide receiver? Here's a focused look at Iosivas.

Last season, after being picked in the sixth round, Andrei Iosivas hauled in 15 receptions for 116 yards and four touchdowns. This year, he is on pace to blow those numbers out of the water, earning 85 yards and three touchdowns in his first three games.

However, only those dealing with injuries to their starters should consider adding the receiver with the intent to make him a consistent starter. Put simply, there's no long-term trend of success for the wide receiver, so there is nothing debunking the chances of him being a two-week wonder, which is commonplace in the NFL.

Andrei Iosivas' production hinges on several things. While Joe Burrow appears healthy, he is coming off a year that ended early due to injury. Backup quarterbacks are unlikely to get to Iosivas on account of his status as the team's third wide receiver.

In addition, it requires both Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to get tied up to even entertain the notion of Iosivas getting targets. This happened in Week 1 when he earned 26 yards and zero touchdowns against the Patriots.

Is Andrei Iosivas a good waiver wire pickup in fantasy football?

Yes, Iosivas is worth picking up off the waiver wire. However, his ceiling is that of a flex, which means he'll likely spend much of the season on the bench. He is sizing up to be a great bench receiver with starting potential in a pinch. If he puts together a game that has both big yardage and touchdowns in the future, he could elevate into being a weekly flex.

It may not happen, but if you can find a place to stash him for a rainy day or if you need someone to cover up an injury, there are worse players you could choose.
