Dalton was ranked 35th by his teammates on the list of NFL Top of 2016. In the following seasons, Dalton reached new heights in his career with the Cincinnati Bengals and after playing with them for 9 seasons, the Bengals released Dalton. He signed a new deal of twelve months worth $7 million with the Dallas Cowboys in May 2020. In 2020, Dalton was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list after testing positive for the virus. After playing with the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints for two years he signed a deal of two years with the Carolina Panthers in 2023.
