Austin Ekeler is a professional American football who plays in the National Football League as a running back for the Washington Commanders. His professional career started in the year 2017 when he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Austin Ekeler signed a deal with the Los Angeles Chargers for three years worth $1.66 million as an undrafted free agent. In his debut game in the 2017 season against the Denver Broncos Ekeler recorded two receptions for 18 yards. He scored the first touchdown of his NFL career in a game against Philadelphia Eagles. He continued his excellent performance throughout the season and he finished his first season with 260 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, 27 receptions, 279 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns.

Ekeler continued his performance in the next season for the Chargers where in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals he suffered a neck injury and due to the following injury he was able to play a few games. He finished the 2018 season where in the following season he had 554 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns, 39 receptions, 404 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns.

Austin Ekeler in 2020 signed a new contract extension deal for four years with the chargers worth $24.5 million. Ekeler continued his brilliant performance in the upcoming seasons for the Chargers where in the 2021 season he recorded 20 touchdowns in the entire season and became the only second person in NFL history to do so. Ekeler was ranked by his team members at 46th in the list of Top players of NFL 2022. Ekeler had another great season in 2022 where in a match against the Los Angeles Rams he recorded 122 yards and had 39 receiving yards and two touchdowns and due to his brilliant performance he was named as the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

After playing on a one-year deal with the Chargers in 2023, Ekeler signed a deal with the Washington Commanders in March 2024.

Austin Ekeler is currently 28 years old as of March 2024. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 17, 1995. The young player first came into the NFL as a running back for the Los Angeles Chargers at the age of 22.

Before his journey in the NFL began Ekeler played college football at Western State. Ekeler performed excellently throughout his college career and in his freshman year he recorded 1,049 rushing yards to go along with seven rushing touchdowns. His skills grew with time and in his senior year, he had a career-high performance where in the following season he recorded 1,495 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns. After another successful season, Ekeler decided to enter the 2017 NFL Draft.

Austin Ekeler had been with the Los Angeles Chargers for seven years until 2024 and during his time with the team, he showed everyone that he belongs in the big league. He weighs around 91 kg and is 5 feet 10 inches tall. Even though Ekeler has accomplished many things in his career thus far but with physical attributes like these and at his young age its no doubt that the best of Austin Ekeler is still yet to come.
