Austin Reed, an American football quarterback, played collegiate football representing the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. After spending two seasons at Western Kentucky, Reed made his decision official in January 2024 to enter into the 2024 NFL Draft. Undoubtedly, it marked a significant moment in his football journey and the intent to leap into the National Football League would certainly be life-changing.

Born in St. Augustine Beach, Florida on February 22, 2000, Reed is 24 years old as of March 2024. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing around 230 pounds, he showcases impressive ability to play fast-paced football. The young quarterback possesses a diverse skill set, with his arm strength being considered to be his best asset, allowing him to throw better catches. However, he delivered an average performance at the NFL Combine, leading to projections that he is likely to be selected on Day 3 in the later rounds of the Draft.

Austin Reed College

Reed initially enrolled at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2018 but did not play, choosing a redshirt year.

In the subsequent year, he transferred to the University of West Florida and joined the West Florida Argonauts during the 2019 season. He significantly contributed to the team’s success, leading the West Florida Argonauts to the NCAA Division II national championship.

He concluded his collegiate career at West Florida with over 7,400 passing yards, 78 touchdowns and 20 interceptions before entering the NCAA transfer portal at the end of the 2021 season.

After entering the transfer portal, he committed to playing college football at Western Kentucky University. Notably, in the 2022 season, he captured everyone’s attention with his exceptional performance, earning recognition. He was named C-USA Newcomer of the Year and secured a spot on the 2022 Second-team All-CUSA. Additionally, he clinched the title of 2022 New Orleans Bowl MVP.

After spending two seasons at Western Kentucky, he wrapped up his college football journey, amassing over 8,000 passing yards, 71 touchdowns and 22 interceptions.
