Baker Mayfield has had a roller coaster of a ride ever since he was drafted into the NFL in 2018. Coming off a reputation as one of the best prospects after coming out of college with over 14,600 passing yards, and 131 passing touchdowns against only 30 touchdowns, Mayfield had huge expectations on his shoulders.

The 2017 Heisman Trophy winner was taken with the number one overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2018 where he would lead the team to their first playoff appearance since 2002. However, things went south after that for the man from Austin, Texas, and it took until 2023 to once again get him back to his near best. Playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023, Mayfield once again led his team to the playoffs and in doing so, signed a new three-year deal with Tampa.

Mayfield can be appreciated for the fact that he is tough and comes to play every time he steps foot on the turf. He has a competitive edge in himself and it is this ability that gets his teammates hyped as well. Although he doesn’t have extreme arm talent, it is still somewhat underrated. One thing that is not underrated though is his accuracy as he is able to put the ball in the right place more often than not.

How fast is Baker Mayfield’s 40-time?

Baker Mayfield participated in the 2018 NFL Combine and set a 40-time of 4.84 seconds. His time was not one of the best for his position in his class as he came in at the 12th spot from a total of 17 quarterbacks.

Mayfield is mostly known as a scrambler, playing from the pocket but able to slide out when required. He is not one of the dual-threat signal callers who are able to use their feet well to run the ball as effectively as they can throw it.

Having said that, Mayfield can get outside the pocket and extend plays allowing enough time for his receivers to try and get open.

Baker Mayfield height

Mayfield stands at a height of 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m) which is a little less as compared to the average quarterback in the NFL in today's game. Most signal callers these days are around 6 feet 21/2 inches to 6 feet 3 inches.

Taller quarterbacks have an advantage for sure when it comes to better vision of play. They spend most of their time playing behind the offensive line and the oncoming defensive linemen or linebackers who are also quite tall. Getting a good view above the players in front can be a challenge for shorter quarterbacks.

Baker Mayfield weight

The former number-one overall pick weighs approximately 215 lb (98 kg). The average weight of an NFL quarterback is around 219 lb which means Mayfield is more or less near it. However, it is worth noting that most quarterbacks are also slightly taller than him.
