Baker Mayfield is the current Quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise in the NFL. He was the no. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Born in Austin, Texas, on April 14, 1995, Mayfield attended Lake Travis High School. He played for the Cavaliers football team. Although he was a three-star recruit, Mayfield faced limited recruitment interest. He finally committed to Texas Tech University in 2013 but switched to the University of Oklahoma in 2014.

During his time in college, he garnered prestigious awards including the 2017 Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, Davey O'Brien Award, and AP College Football Player of the Year. Mayfield also earned two-time recognition as Sporting News Player of the Year (2015, 2017), achieved Sugar Bowl MVP status in 2017, and secured two Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year titles (2015, 2017).
