Sean McVay suffered his first losing season as an NFL head coach as the Los Angeles Rams finished with a 5 -12 record. It was rumored that McVay could possibly step down as Rams head coach after this season. However, it was reported that he'll be back on the sidelines for the Rams come next season.
Yet, many NFL fans recalled Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk stating that the 36-year-old coach would likely step down due to burnout.
Fans took to Twitter to remind Florio of his prediction and how he might be upset at the Rams winning the Super Bowl last season.

Florio initially reported that McVay didn't want to be part of a possible rebuild of the Rams and would resign as head coach. Here's what Florio said:
“There’s a growing sense that he will (step down). My understanding is it’s not because of burnout or he wants to get into TV. He won a Super Bowl and now he’s facing a multi-year rebuild that he doesn’t want to be apart of.”
However, McVay will enter his seventh season as their head coach as they look to bounce back in the 2023 - 2024 season.
Sean McVay and his impressive resume as Rams head coach
Sean McVay was hired by the Rams back in January 2017 at 30 years old. McVay was the Washington Commanders' offensive coordinator under head coach Jay Gruden for three seasons.
In his first season as an NFL head coach, McVay led Los Angeles to an 11 - 5 record and first place in the NFC West. He would win AP Coach of the Year that season as well.
The Rams would lose to the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild Card round that season. In his second campaign, McVay led the team to the Super Bowl, coming up short against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams missed the playoffs the following two seasons after their Super Bowl appearance versus the Patriots.
In the 2021 campaign, McVay led his team back to the Super Bowl, this time coming out on top over the Cincinnati Bengals. This season was far from what Sean McVay expected as the Rams dealt with notable injuries from quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Nonetheless, we'll see how next season shapes out for the Super Bowl-winning head coach.
