How healthy are Roquan Smith and other key Ravens before SNF showdown vs. Bills?

The Baltimore Ravens will aim for their first win streak of the 2024 season when they host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. After surviving a major scare against the Dallas Cowboys last time out, they look to prove they are still favorites to clinch the AFC North.

Coming into the matchup, all their usual offensive weapons are healthy and expected to play, including the monstrous ground game duo of quarterback Lamar Jackson and bruising running back Derrick Henry.

Tyler Linderbaum's injury status

The first major question mark in the list is Tyler Linderbaum, who has found immediate success as the Ravens' starting center for the past two years. The one-time Pro Bowler was absent from Wednesday practice as he healed his neck, then slowly worked his way back into full participation by Friday.

But right now, he is questionable to start. And should HC John Harbaugh, OC Todd Monken, and OL coach George Warhop decide that his condition is not worth aggravating, they have a ready-made replacement in seventh-round rookie Nick Samac.

Roquan Smith's injury status

Roquan Smith has been a dominant coverage tackler in Baltimore. While he is not prolific in sacks, he proved himself particularly adept against the run last year, shutting down the likes of Christian McCaffrey, Kyren Williams, and even his current teammate Derrick Henry.

An ankle injury limited him in Wednesday's practice, but by Thursday he was healthy again, attending all sessions for both that day and Friday. His recovery should be a massive boost for a corps that has been missing Patrick Queen.

Jalyn Armour-Davis' injury status

And finally, there is Jalyn Armour-Davis. One of the Ravens' nickelback starters in their hybrid 4-2-5 formation (with outside linebackers Kyle Van Noy and Odafe Oweh placed where the defensive ends should be) so far, did not practice the entire week because of a hamstring injury.

As a result, he will be unable to play on Sunday as he focuses on healing his foot. But the good news is that they have options in his stead; Smith's fellow ex-Chicago Bear Eddie Jackson and rookie Nate Wiggins, both of whom have also started at nickelback.
