In Week 2 of the 2024 NFL preseason, the Baltimore Ravens and Atlanta Falcons started the weekend with a competitive affair. The Ravens edged the Falcons 13-12 in a defensive battle.
Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo put the Falcons on the scoreboard first as he nailed a 54-yard field goal at 2:21 of the first quarter. However, the Ravens took the lead before halftime when starting quarterback Josh Johnson connected with Owen Wright for a six-yard touchdown. The Ravens led 7-3 at the break.
Looking for the lead to begin the second half, the Falcons came within one point when Koo made another field goal, connecting on a 24-yard chip shot. Baltimore led 7-6 at 11:36 in the third quarter.
The game's longest play occurred when Ravens quarterback Emory Jones connected with Dayton Wade on a 56-yard pass. The Ravens tried a two-point conversion but failed, leading 13-6 with 2:56 left in the third period.

Down by a touchdown, the Falcons scored with 36 seconds remaining in the game as Jase McClellan found paydirt from three yards out. The Falcons took an aggressive approach and went for the win. However, their two-point conversion failed, and the Ravens walked away with a 13-12 exhibition victory.
After four hard-fought quarters, Ravens quarterback Josh Johnson was a perfect 11-for-11 for 120 yards and a touchdown. Jones completed 7-of-9 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Wade was the Ravens' leading receiver with two receptions, 67 yards and a touchdown. Beau Brade led the Ravens with eight tackles.
For Atlanta, starting QB Taylor Heinicke completed 8-of-16 passes for 114 yards while backup John Paddock completed 9-of-17 for 78 yards. McClellan was the game's leading rusher, adding 55 yards on 11 attempts. Chris Blair was the game's leading receiver with 91 yards and four catches.
Natrone Brooks led all tacklers with 13. The Falcons had two sacks.
Many of the starters from both teams didn't play in Saturday's contest.
