New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is arguably one of the best in NFL history. With 503 TDs, he ranks fifth on the all-time list, and he could probably overtake Brett Favre who's five ahead of him. Some fans may have a different opinion on Rodgers’ legacy, but his former teammate and NFL legend RB Marshawn Lynch doesn’t think so. For him, Rodgers is the best.
In an interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” in October 2023, Lynch recalled his days with Rodgers. He said (via KTVU FOX):
“He was the best quarterback I ever played with.”

The two played together for the California Golden Bears in 2004 before Rodgers was drafted by the Green Bay Packers. Lynch signed with the Seattle Seahawks after his rookie 2007 season with the Buffalo Bills.
At the Packers, Rodgers learned a lot under Brett Favre. He later won the Super Bowl in 2011 and four NFL MVP awards. But Lynch feels Rodgers should have won more Super Bowls based on his capabilities.
“The only difference is, I would’ve thought he would’ve had more Super Bowls by now, realistically,” he said.
Marshawn Lynch explained why Aaron Rodgers is special
Marshawn Lynch was also considerate of how Rodgers helped him during his college days. Lynch had a hard time getting playing time as he had tough competition in JJ Arrington, who had rushed for over 2,000 yards in a season.
“Aaron Rodgers is the reason why I got my opportunity at Cal. As a freshman, it’s hard to play [get playing time].”
Lynch then narrated how Rodgers made adjustments on the fly when the former messed up on a play during his first game.
“As A-Rod turned around and looked for me, he saw I was on the other side. A-Rod pulled the smoothest move I’ve ever seen. That boy turned around and handed the ball off to me backwards. He was facing the other way, handed it off to me backwards,” he continued. “But this is how I know A-Rod was special.”
Lynch scored on the play but had heat coming his way from his coaches. However, Aaron Rodgers saved him again by taking the blame for the mess.
