Bo Nix started the 2024 season slowly but by the time the Broncos prepared to face the Browns in Week 13, there was no doubt that we were seeing the quarterback that Denver drafted in the first round of this year's NFL Draft. The rookie quarterback has led his team to a 7-5 record, which sees them sitting in the final AFC playoff spot. If they do make it to the postseason, it will be the first time they do so since they won the Super Bowl in 2016.
Bo Nix came into this game with more than 2,500 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He has thrown for at least 200 yards in the last five games, with a total of 11 touchdowns coming in that period with just one pick. He came into this game knowing that a Denver win at home would put them with the same record as the Ravens in the AFC.
Given that Baltimore is considered one of the best rosters in the league, that would be a huge confidence boost for the Broncos. However, they would have known that the Browns had defeated Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry when they previously met and posed a significant threat. With so much riding on this game, this is how Bo Nix fared.

Bo Nix went toe-to-toe in a shootout against Jameis Winston and emerged triumphant in a game that was littered with great play and mistakes by both quarterbacks. The rookie made some errors in his first-ever game under the lights on Monday but outshone the veteran in crucial moments.
He led three touchdown drives, two of which culminated in rushing touchdowns. The first one came right at the start in which Bo Nix made some great throws to set up first-and-goal. It looked like the Broncos might mess up that opportunity but Javonte Williams got into the endzone on the third attempt.
The rookie quarterback's next significant play showed why he still needs to get some more experience under his belt. With the scores tied 7-7 in the first half, he threw a bad interception that gave the ball back to Cleveland. The slightly underthrown pass gave Denzel Ward the chance to make a great play and he ended up deflecting the ball to Greg Newsome.
If there were some doubts about his decision-making, there was no doubt about Bo Nix's character. With the Browns leading 10-7, they needed their rookie quarterback to lead them on a drive to at least tie the scores. He did even better as he led them on a touchdown drive that culminated with Michael Burton running into the endzone.
Bo Nix came out firing in the second half too as he threw his first touchdown pass in the third quarter. It was a thing of beauty too and it allowed the Broncos to take a 28-17 lead. He threw from back in his own endzone to Marvin Mims, whom two defenders were covering, and the receiver took it 93 yards. The pass was an absolute dime and showcased why Denver is so bullish about their rookie quarterback.
That was the highlight of Bo Nix's game but he remained crucial for the rest of the duration too. He threw another interception but redeemed himself with two drives culminating in field goals. The last of them was a 34-32 go-ahead score for the Broncos with only a few minutes remaining. It put the Browns under sufficient pressure that Jameis Winston turned over the ball twice in the two-minute warning, the first of which was returned for a touchdown, effectively ending the game.
