In Week 7's defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs, the San Francisco 49ers' Brandon Aiyuk reeled in seven of his 11 targets for 82 yards.
Aiyuk was his team's top target scorer for the second straight week with 11. After largely disappointing figures during the first five games of the season, he has warmed up as the WR3 that fantasy owners had initially selected him as.
Aiyuk should continue to play a significant role in the 49ers' passing gameplay when they come up against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8. Although Christian McCaffrey's arrival might reduce his volume, Aiyuk is still a stronger option than Tyler Lockett, given the questions surrounding Lockett's fitness.

Will Tyler Lockett play in Week 8?
According to John Boyle on the Seattle Seahawks' official website, Tyler Lockett, who is dealing with hamstring/rib issues, will be evaluated before the kickoff of Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
After suffering a fresh oblique injury, which the team officially described as ribs on the injury report, Lockett, who previously in the week looked to be on the road to recovery, was classified as doubtful for the game against the Giants on Sunday and is a limited participant in training.
Head coach Pete Carroll said following Friday's practice:
"He feels a little bit of an oblique issue, kind of something going on that he felt on Thursday for the first time."
He will play on Sunday, right? Carroll tried to be as imprecise as he could be. When asked if he would be a game-day decision, the head coach responded:
"Yes, I would assume so. If I could, I would ask someone. But unfortunately, we will have to wait because I cannot and have no one to ask."
Going into a game against the 6-1 Giants, who may be the NFL's bombshell, the potential absence of one of the Seahawks' best receivers is unquestionably undesirable.
Following a week of missed practice due to a hamstring ailment, Lockett oversaw his lowest percentage of snaps of the season in last Sunday's 37-23 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
While he was classified as a full participant in training on Thursday and spoke with the media earlier to report that his hamstring felt "all right," he seemed to be moving past that.
Is Brandon Aiyuk a good option beyond Week 8?
Fantasy managers must have been content with another high-volume outing from Brandon Aiyuk, even though he could not match his two touchdowns from Week 6.
Once the double-threat running back gets comfortable with San Francisco's scheme, the emergence of Christian McCaffrey might reduce Aiyuk's recent target increase. Nevertheless, before Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams, the former first-round choice is currently looking like a trendy fantasy asset.
