Brandon Allen is an American football quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, as of the 2024 NFL season. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Allen as the 201st overall pick in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. After a short time with the Jaguars, Allen spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. In 2019, he joined the Denver Broncos, where he made his first NFL start in Week 9 against the Cleveland Browns. Allen signed with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2020, spending three seasons with the team before joining the 49ers in 2023.

Allen committed to playing football for the Arkansas Razorbacks during his college years. At the University of Arkansas, he accumulated 7,463 passing yards, 64 touchdowns, and 26 interceptions (via Sports Reference). In high school, he played for Fayetteville High School, where he recorded 3,408 yards and 38 touchdowns during his senior season.

Allen attended the University of Arkansas, where he played football from 2011 to 2015. Allen totaled 7,463 passing yards, third in Arkansas history, and started 38 games. He also ranked second in career completions (583) and attempts (1,016) and third in completion percentage (57.4).

Academically, Allen graduated in 2014 with a degree in recreation and sport management. He was named to the Razorback Honor Roll in 2011 and 2012 and earned SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll honors in 2012, 2013, and 2014, as per the official website of the University of Arkansas.

After redshirting as a freshman in 2011, Allen appeared in five games and made one start in 2012, completing 21 of 49 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown.

As a sophomore in 2013, Allen started 11 games, missing only one game due to injury. He completed 128 of 258 passes for 1,552 yards and 13 touchdowns and recorded 10 interceptions.

As a junior in 2014, Allen started all 13 games, completing 190 of 339 passes for 2,285 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also threw five interceptions.

In 2015, Allen started all 13 games in his final season, finishing with 244 of 370 passing for 3,440 yards, 30 passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown.
