Brandon Staley Contract: How much does the Los Angeles Chargers HC earn?

Los Angeles Rams v Los Angeles Chargers
Head coach Brandon Staley of the Los Angeles Chargers reacts to a call during a 29-22 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in a preseason game at SoFi Stadium on August 13, 2022 in Inglewood, California.

Los Angeles Chargers HC Brandon Staley is currently on a contract that pays him $4 million each year with the Chargers. The Chargers job is the first held by the former college-level QB, but it isn't his first role in the NFL. Staley cut his teeth as a coach and coordinator for the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and lastly, the Los Angeles Rams before landing the head coaching gig at the Chargers.

Throughout his coaching career, the Ohio native has accumulated an estimated $1 million-$5 million in net worth. Staley has racked up those millions by being one of the best young coaching minds in the league, and he is fresh off leading his Chargers side to the 2023 Playoffs.

At the moment, Staley isn't among the best head coaches in the league, but he is close to that distinction, so far as he keeps the good times coming.

Brandon Staley's coaching record

Brandon Staley has been the head coach for two regular seasons as he attempts to avoid an early playoff defeat in his side's wildcard game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Staley's coaching record currently reads 19 wins, 15 losses, and zero ties in a 34-game head coaching career. Not counted are the games he spent as an outside linebacker, a coach and a defensive coordinator. Staley will look to enter the W column in his first postseason appearance as he takes on an informed foe in the Jaguars.

Staley was a part of the Sean McVay coaching tree, and the former protegee coached a better unit than his former teacher. It remains to be seen whether the Chargers are the new best NFL in LA or whether this is a mere one-off.

How is Brandon Staley's Los Angeles Chargers performing this season?

Brandon Staley led the Los Angeles Chargers to their first playoff appearance in a hot minute and made the playoffs in style. Backed by MVP-caliber performances from Justin Herbert, the Chargers qualified from a loaded AFC Conference with a respectable 10-7 record.

Several offensive players have stepped up all season long, including running back Austin Ekeler. Ekeler was seen as a Pro Bowl snub, as he ranked near the top in almost every running back statistical metric available. Also, receivers like Mike Williams, Joshua Palmer, and Keenan Allen played their part in the Chargers' playoff run. Their season comes to a head at the Jaguars on Sunday, and Staley will need to play his cards right.
