Breece Hall or Jonathan Taylor Week 9 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Fantasy Football Projections for RBs

Breece Hall and Jonathan Taylor are two running backs whose respective teams are experiencing different trajectories. Nevertheless, with both of them being young, they stand to continue among the premier running backs of the decade with the right coaching.

But right now, only one of them can make a fantasy footballer's "dream team", unless someone like Derrick Henry is already there. So who gets it?

Breece Hall is a rare bright spot in an otherwise-floundering New York Jets offense. On a team whose receivers Aaron Rodgers has been unable to reliably feed, he has been singled out as a focus for Todd Downing, who had a similar run-heavy approach with the Tennessee Titans.

The Houston Texans should present an ample challenge for him, as they now boast a proven play-stopper in Devin White, who joined a week ago after being released by the Philadelphia Eagles. But other than him, they lack another anti-ground impact player, with most of their defensive resources being spent in the anti-air game - not exactly the best and most balanced scenario for a defense-oriented manager.

After a long injury stretch, Jonathan Taylor finally returned to the field on Sunday. He immediately reminded fans and analysts of his dominance in a 23-20 loss at the Houston Texans with 20 rushes for 105 yards and a touchdown.

The Indianapolis Colts are very fortunate to have him back, as they will have to lean on him to bypass a monstrous Minnesota Vikings secondary that has proven adept at neutralising passing games and may do so again against a WR corps that, besides Michael Pittman Jr., still lacks impact players.

Any fantasy player who wants to invest a large number of points in him may expect a large reward, given that he also has Quenton Nelson and Ryan Kelly to create opportunities for him.

Even though Hall has the more star-studded cast around him, Sportskeeda's Start/Sit tool is siding with Taylor on this one.

While the Colts obviously do not have the flashiest offensive group, they had been at least dependable under Anthony Richardson despite his struggles to complete passes. Under Joe Flacco, one of the most experienced players in the league, they may see a resurgence that the Cleveland Browns experienced when they picked him up in the middle of last season.

A cerebral player like him can only benefit Taylor, who is looking for his first playoff appearace since he was a rookie - and whichever managers have big hedges on him.
