Brett Favre is a former NFL player who is on the Mount Rushmore of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. He competed for 20 long years in the NFL and accomplished many accolades in the league. Favre spent 16 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, leading them to the Super Bowl in 1996 and winning the game MVP award. He three-peated when it comes to the NFL MVP award (1995, 1996, and 1997) and was named to the Pro Bowl 11 times. Not to mention the record he holds for most consecutive starts by a quarterback (297).

After leaving the Packers, Favre played for the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings. He initially retired from the NFL but came out of retirement to play for the Vikings. He retired for good in 2010.

He was a gunslinger on the field because of his willingness to take risks and make huge plays. However, his durability was the most impressive skill he had, starting 297 consecutive games, a record that still stands today.

What was Brett Favre’s age when he retired?

Brett Favre retired for the final time in 2010, from the NFL. At the time, Brett Favre was 41 years of age. He had played for four teams in his career, the Green Bay Packers, the New York Jets, Minnesota Vikings, and the Atlanta Falcons.

Given that many quarterbacks continue to play well into their 40s, Favre was still considered to be a youthful quarterback when he announced his retirement. Favre, though, had played football for a very long period and had sustained a number of injuries during the course of his career. In order to spend more time with his family, he made the decision to retire following the 2010 season.

Previously at the age of 39, Brett Favre came out of retirement to play for the Minnesota Vikings in 2009. He had played for the Packers and the Jets in the past, and that season, he led the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game.
