NFL fans were thrilled after seeing a viral video on X on Saturday where Colorado Buffaloes star quarterback Shedeur Sanders shared a handshake, or "dap," with New York Giants coach Brian Daboll.

After a 3-14 season, Giants fans are hopeful for a change at QB.

"THATS MY QB MAN," one fan wrote.

"Bring him home," another fan commented.
"That’s our guy," a fan tweeted.

More fans joined in and shared their opinions.

"It's happening," a fan wrote.
"Dabes may get a QB he likes being around," another fan commented.
"Giants love Sanders. This is a pre-meditated coming together for Sanders and NY," one fan wrote.

The clip of Sanders dapping up Daboll was captured during the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl practice in Texas. It has led to excitement among fans about Sanders possibly joining the Giants.

Although Sanders did not play at the event, he was the center of attention as he met with teams like the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and Giants. They are teams with top five picks in the upcoming NFL draft.

This isn’t Sanders' first connection to the Giants. In December, he was seen playing catch in New York City with Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers before teammate Travis Hunter’s Heisman ceremony.

This past season, Sanders led the Big 12 in passing yards (3,926), touchdowns (35), and completion percentage (74.2%).

Shedeur Sanders’ Giants-inspired cleats created headlines in December

Colorado Buffaloes star Shedeur Sanders, a top QB prospect in the 2025 NFL draft, caused a buzz in December after he wore a pair of New York Giants-themed cleats in his locker before the Alamo Bowl.

However, Sanders didn’t wear them during the game. He warmed up in Christmas-themed shoes and played in his usual black cleats. The timing could not be ignored because the Giants had the No. 1 draft pick at the time.

On the Jan. 10 episode of the "Tamron Hall Show," Sanders’ father and Colorado coach Deion Sanders addressed the viral cleats.

“He has some Tennessee cleats, too," Coach Prime said. "And some Raiders cleats. He got every color cleats.”

Deion also hinted that some teams are off the table for his son.

“It’s not like who I would like for him to play for," Deion said. "It’s a couple teams that I won’t allow him to play for,” he added. “But this is my profession. I know what’s behind the curtain. We ain’t got to get back there for me to understand what’s behind the curtain and what’s not prominent for my son. I’m not doing it.”

With the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns holding the first two picks and the Giants at No. 3, it remains to be seen if Shedeur will land in New York.
