Bryan Cranston is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actors working today, which was quite evident in 2020 during a Super Bowl ad.
The Emmy award-winning actor starred alongside actress Tracee Ellis Ross in the ad for Mountain Dew. Cranston played multiple roles, including a pair of twins that still creeped out some to this day. The ad was based on the 1980s hit movie "The Shining".
In the ad, Cranston attempts to get Ross to consume the new Mountain Dew Zero. He approaches the bathroom door where Ross is, trying to convince her to drink the Mountain Dew Zero.
Cranston said:

“I’ve got new MTN Dew Zero Sugar. With the same refreshing taste as the original, but without any of the sugar!”
He uses an ax to make a hole in the door to peek his face in. In an ode to the movie, Bryan Cranston utters a line to announce his presence with a bottle of Mountain Dew in hand.
Cranston said:
"Here's.... Mountain Dew Zero!"
Ross yelled, but eventually embraced her fate, taking the bottle out of Cranston's hands and saying that she was thirsty. The ad ends with a green-liquid homage on the elevator of blood sequence from "The Shining". This aspect of pandering by Mountain Dew does have one distinct part.
Bryan Cranston appeared in a shocking duel role in the ad’s final moments as twins. Overall, the Super Bowl ad was equally hilarious and creepy. Basically, it was everything fans would get from an ad during the NFL's biggest game.
How much did the cost of that Bryan Cranston ad cost?
According to AdAge, the cost of a 30-second commercial spot for Super Bowl LIV was around $5.6 million in 2020. In 2019, a 30-second commercial for Super Bowl LVIII cost between $5.1 and $5.3 million.
Without question, companies must get their money's worth when it comes to the Super Bowl. In the case of Mountain Dew, the ad with Byron Cranston is one that won't soon be forgotten.
