Irving entered the year as Rachaad White's backup, but White has struggled to prove he is worthy of that role. However, White is still getting his fair share of carries which makes Irving a tough pick.
The bright spot for the Buccaneers is that they are going up against the Atlanta Falcons which has allowed 145.5 rushing yards per game so far this season (25th in the NFL). So, Irving could potentially have a breakout game.
Is Rhamondre Stevenson a good fantasy pick?
Rhamondre Stevenson is a good fantasy pick as he is the New England Patriots' starting RB.
Stevenson struggled in Week 4 against a solid New York Jets defense. The Patriots' offense will still be run-first so Stevenson will get plenty of carries.
New England is also playing Miami which has allowed 119.5 yards per game this season (19th).
Bucky Irving or Rhamondre Stevenson: Who Should I start?
Sportskeeda's fantasy start/sit optimizer suggests that fantasy managers should start Bucky Irving over Rhamondre Stevenson in Week 5.
The tool projects Bucky Irving to finish with 10.9 fantasy points in a full PPR league while Rhamondre Stevenson is projected to finish with 10.7.
Irving is also projected to rush for 55 yards and add 16.7 receiving yards. On the other hand, Stevenson is projected to rush for 47.4 yards and add 15.9 receiving yards. Both RBs are not expected to find the endzone in Week 5.
Ultimately, with how bad the Falcons' run defense has been, Irving should be started on Thursday Night Football.
