C.J. Stroud

Coleridge Bernard "C. J." Stroud IV is an American football quarterback for the Houston Texans in the NFL. The Texans drafted Stroud with the second overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. During his rookie season, Stroud broke the previous NFL record held by Dak Prescott for the most throw attempts without an interception to start a career in NFL history, completing his 177th pass attempt without an interception in a 21-19 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Stroud was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team and Pro Bowl after finishing the season with 499 passes attempted and 23 passing touchdowns.

Stroud began his collegiate career with the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2020. In his rookie season, Stroud only played eight snaps and scored a touchdown while redshirting his freshman year. Stroud was voted fourth for the Heisman Trophy in 2021, as he recorded 441 attempted passes, six interceptions, and 44 passing touchdowns. Stroud finished the 2022 season with 830 passes attempted, 12 interceptions, and 85 passing touchdowns following an outstanding 2021 season. He received First-team All-Big Ten, Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Big-Ten Quarterback of the Year twice in 2021 and 2022 respectively. Stroud announced at the end of the season that he would forego his last two years of college in order to enter the 2023 NFL Draft. Stroud played football for Rancho Cucamonga High School prior to attending college.
