Calvin Ridley is a six-year veteran wide receiver in the NFL who currently plays for the Tennessee Titans after signing with them on March 15, 2024. Ridley comes from the city of Fort Lauderdale in Florida and is the oldest of four siblings. Born on December 20, 1994, he has had to come through life the hard way as his father was deported to Guyana and his mother was serving time in prison.

Despite the ugly childhood Ridley has endured, he came out on top by focusing on his football career. Working hard over the years, he earned himself a reputation through high school and college to become a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft when he was selected at number 26 overall by the Atlanta Falcons.

Over the course of his 6-year NFL career, Ridley spent the first 4.5 years in Atlanta before he was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022. Unfortunately for Ridley, he was traded away after the Falcons opted for his fifth-year option since he was caught gambling on NFL games including those involving his team. Trying to put that chapter behind him now, Ridley, who was suspended for the entire 2022 season came back in 2023 and put up a 1,000-plus receiving-yard season with the Jaguars.

Calvin Ridley College

Calvin Ridley had multiple lucrative offers after high school which included Florida, Miami, and Ohio State, yet Ridley decided to attend the University of Alabama to play his college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Ridley got off the mark running by making a huge impact for the Crimson Tide as a freshman in 2015. He finished the year with 1,045 receiving yards and led the SEC with 89 receptions. He continued to feature in a prominent role for Alabama with talented receivers alongside him and despite only finishing with 769 receiving yards, he was still a major part of the Crimson Tide offense.

In 2017, Ridley started his junior year and once again proved his dominance with a nearly 1,000-receiving-yard performance over the year. Overall, Ridley achieved many accolades in his college career such as a two-time CFP National Champion with Alabama (2015, 2017), First-team All-SEC in 2017, Freshman All-American in 2015, and a two-time Second-team All-SEC (2016, 2017).

Calvin Ridley High School

Ridley attended Monarch High School in Florida where he was an exceptional player. In his junior year, he had 1,131 receiving yards from 41 passes and 12 receiving touchdowns along with it. He got off to an amazing start as a senior catching 18 passes for a staggering 420 receiving yards in just three games. Unfortunately, his senior season was cut short due to age restrictions.

In spite of having played so little as a senior, Ridley walked out of high school football as a five-star recruit and was named the top wide receiver of his class.
