Cam Jordan is a defensive end who plays for the New Orleans Saints. He is playing his 12th season in the NFL with the Saints. New Orleans drafted him as the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft.
Since then, Jordan has been to seven Pro Bowls. He was a member of the first-team All-Pro twice in 2017 and 2019, and was a second-team All-Pro in 2018. He was also voted All-Decade for the 2010s.
In 2021, Jordan made around $13.9 million in total income and was due $14.5 million in 2022. During the 2022 offseason, Cam Jordan restructured his contract to create a salary cap space for the Saints.

According to Saints Wire at USA Today, Jordan's revised contract reduced his salary cap impact from $23.1 million to just over $12.4 million. This saved nearly $10.7 million against the cap. However, Jordan did not give up any money because of the deal's restructuring.
Cam Jordan consented to a basic salary reduction from $13.6 million to the minimum of $1.12, but he will still get a signing bonus for the difference. In other words, the payments made against the cap have been postponed to subsequent years as he receives his money now, rather than later.
Even if they release or trade him before 2023, the Saints would still pay Jordan more than $23 million. Jordan's contract is set to expire on March 12, 2024, at which point he will be 35 years old.
Did the NFL fine Cam Jordan $50,000?
On Monday, December 5, the NFL accused Cam Jordan of faking an injury and issued him a fine of $50,000. Not only that, but his position coach, head coach and the Saints were also fined $50,000, $100,000 and $350,000 respectively.
Midway through the fourth quarter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 3rd-and-17 led to the incident. Jordan looked to the sidelines, knelt, and pointed to his lower left leg as Tom Brady set up the offense for 4th-and-10.
Different video angles show Jordan getting instructions from the sideline to kneel, due to which fines worth $550,000 were levied.
