The Super Bowl rings are very rare and can be found only on individuals related to the Super Bowl-winning organization. There are a fixed number of rings that are crafted depending on who will be receiving them. This decision is also left to the franchise. Needless to say, all players and coaches on the roster receive their customized rings, but the franchises also hand them out to the front and back-office staff. Some franchises are known to give less valuable but equally breathtaking rings to cheerleaders, mascots, and other personnel as well.

The typical things that go onto the rings are the team logo, team name, the ‘World Champions’ wording, and the Super Bowl number. Many of the rings also contain diamonds in the shape of the Lombardi Trophy and they have as many of those diamonds as the number of Super Bowls the franchise has won.

Can you buy a Super Bowl ring?

As mentioned previously, Super Bowl rings are limited to the number of people the respective NFL franchise deems fit to receive them. As a result of which these rings are not available in the public market for purchase. Super Bowl rings for sale are thus quite rare but there have been a few instances where people have purchased them.

Having said that, there is a possibility that any individual can buy such rings provided they have sufficient amount of funds to pay for it. Now, the important thing to understand here is that each ring's charges lie in the range of $30,000 to $50,000 as reported by Sports Illustrated. From that around $5,000-$7,000 per ring for up to 150 rings is given by the NFL.

For the most part Super Bowl rings can be bought during auctions held by players or franchise front office staff. Sometimes former players need to sell off their rings when they run into financial problems. One such instance happened with former Ravens running back Jamal Lewis after he filed for bankruptcy, as per Baltimore Ravens official website. There are other times when players, coaches, or executives also auction off their rings to donate to charities. In such situations, these rings are available for purchase.
