Ikem Ekwonu missed the first two training sessions of the week. The tackle is dealing with an ankle injury ahead of his side's matchup against fellow strugglers, the New York Giants.
Ekwonu missed last week's game against the New Orleans Saints due to the injury sustained in Week 8 against the Denver Broncos. He hasn't participated in training since, and he'll likely miss the game against the Giants. Brady Christensen will likely continue starting in Ekwonu's place.
Adam Thielen's injury update
Adam Thielen missed Friday's training session ahead of the game against the Giants. The veteran wide receiver hasn't played since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 3.
The report states that Thielen traveled with the Panthers to Germany ahead of the Week 10 showdown against the Giants. However, the former Minnesota Vikings star's chances of suiting up are slim to none.
The Panthers still need to activate him from the injured reserve as he recovers from a serious injury. In the meantime, expect Xavier Legette, David Moore, and Jalen Coker to share reps catching passes from Bryce Young for the foreseeable future.
New York Giants Injury Report
Darius Slayton's injury update
Darius Slayton did not travel to Germany with the rest of his teammates for the game against the Carolina Panthers. Slayton is dealing with a concussion and was never going to play a part in the game due to not clearing the concussion protocol.
The wide receiver entered the protocol after his side's Week 9 loss to the Washington Commanders. He did not participate in a single practice session in the lead-up to Week 10.
Furthermore, players with concussions are typically advised not to board flights. Hence, Slayton and the Giants will likely consider a return after the team's Week 11 bye. He might be available for their Week 12 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Bryce Ford-Wheaton's injury update
Bryce Ford-Wheaton missed practice on Thursday. The wide receiver is dealing with an Achilles injury and is leaning towards not playing against the Panthers in Germany.
Ford-Wheaton did not play in last week's loss to the Washington Commanders due to the same issue. His presence will likely be missed against the Panthers, as he's a solid role player on the special teams unit.
