The Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles continued their seasons during Week 14 of the NFL season. The two teams are in totally different moods this year, with the Panthers struggling with a 3-9 record, while the Eagles are firmly in the fight for the first seed in the NFC.

Those who expected the home team to run up the score were surprised, though. Carolina put together an intense fight and led for most of the first half, with Philadelphia struggling with penalties and not doing much in the passing game. Chuba Hubbard was also dominant from the start.
With the Detroit Lions already winning on Thursday, the Eagles had absolutely no choice but to win this game to pursue the home-field advantage in the playoffs. They had to dig deep, but were able to finish the job late in the fourth quarter.

Young made excellent plays throughout the game and was able to put the Panthers in position to win. The Carolina quarterback suffered with a late drop by Xavier Legette that would've won the game for them.

Once again, Adam Thielen was the star of the show for the Panthers, with over 100 receiving yards in nine receptions. The veteran wide receiver is still playing at a high level, and has a strong part in Bryce Young's recent development.

Jalen Hurts just crossed the 100-yard mark, but at the same time, he was responsible for three touchdowns and did not commit a turnover once again. He scored a rushing touchdown in a tush push, extending his rushing touchdowns total to 13.

Philadelphia did not use its duo of wide receivers as aggressively as they've done in other weeks. Brown and Smith combined for just eight receptions, and the latter expressed frustration with his usage in the locker room after the game.
It's important to notice that, with Dallas Goedert placed on the injured reserve, Grant Calcaterra appeared with a touchdown to help offset Goedert's absence

About the author
Henrique Bulio
Henrique Bulio is an NFL and College Football journalist at Sportskeeda and the Editor-in-Chief of Pro Football Brasil. He has a total 13 years of experience working in American Football, and playing quarterback at an amateur level in Brazil has given him a unique perspective of the game.
Henrique follows the Philadelphia Eagles closely due to Michael Vick's historic performance on MNF against the Washington Commanders in 2010. His all-time favorite player is Ed Reed; he believes that Reed is the greatest safety to ever play the game. Bill Belichick gets the nod as Henrique's favorite coach for coaching the Patriots to glory over two decades.
If Henrique were to be able to go back in time and watch one game, it would be Super Bowl XLIX, where the Patriots and the Seahawks played a complete, back-and-forth game that concluded with one of the biggest talking points in NFL history.
Technical deep dives are Henrique’s specialty, and he ensures never to use misleading words in his articles, since he himself consumes a lot of information off the web. He has had the privilege of interviewing Cairo Santos, Lamar Jackson, Jim Harbaugh, Sean McDermott, Bruce Arians, Matt LaFleur, among others.
Aside from football, Henrique likes to play poker and Counter-Strike.
