Cedric Tillman injury update: Latest on Browns WR's status for Week 14 Fantasy Football

Cedric Tillman is a reliable wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns. The Tennessee product has the prototypical height of an elite pass catcher, and he's enjoyed an expanded role in the team's offense since the departure of Amari Cooper.

Cedric Tillman's injury update

According to CBS Sports, Cedric Tillman will not play in Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The pacey wide receiver is dealing with a concussion and hasn't yet been cleared to return to the field. Tillman never looked likely to play in Week 14, as he did not participate in a single practice session in the leadup to the rematch against the Steelers.

As such, Tillman will miss his second consecutive game due to a head injury suffered against the Steelers in Week 12. Due to Tillman's injury, fellow wideouts Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore are up for an increase in targets in Week 14. Also, Michael Woods will likely be promoted from the practice squad as cover for the injured Tillman and questionable Jamari Thrash.

Tillman isn't the only Cleveland Browns starter set to miss out in the divisional clash. Defensive tackle Maurice Hurst (ankle), defensive end Sam Kamara (concussion) and tackle Jedrick Wills (knee) are all set to miss the Sunday matchup.

How is Cedric Tillman performing this season?

Cedric Tillman was enjoying a decent season, which peaked in the last couple of games before his injury. Tillman went from averaging a catch every other outing to racking up near 100-yard games on a regular basis.

However, his injury against the Steelers in Week 12 halted his progress. He now has to pass through the league's mandatory concussion protocol before he can return to action.

In the meantime, the Browns will continue their search for consistency. They've won just three games all season, and none of those wins have happened in consecutive weeks. They'll have their work cut out in Week 14, as the Pittsburgh Steelers are aiming for revenge after their surprise Week 12 triumph.
