Even though CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys are in the middle of a disappointing season, they somehow find themselves in the middle of a winning streak. At 5-7, they'll be eliminated from contention if they lose against the Cincinnati Bengals during Week 14's Monday Night Football.

Lamb is not having the best of the seasons. The wide receiver, who signed a massive contract extension prior to the 2024 season, has been affected by the season-ending injury of starting quarterback Dak Prescott, as his chemistry with backup Cooper Rush is not nearly the same. As such, his volume has diminished.

Still, he's undoubtedly the best Cowboys wide receiver, and if they're to make a late playoff push, having Lamb on the field is essential. He's dealing with a shoulder problem, but on Saturday, his name came off the injury report, and he'll be playing for the Cowboys on Monday:

He's not in the best sequence of his career. Against the New York Giants on Thanksgiving, he had his fifth straight game where he did not cross the 100-yard mark.

Rush's inability to throw the ball downfield is limiting Lamb's ability to win vertically.

CeeDee Lamb's contract extension has him as one of the best-paid receivers in the league

After a contract saga that spanned out the entire offseason, the Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb were finally able to strike a deal. He missed most of the offseason as the two sides negotiated, which could explain why he was off for such a slow start.

He signed a four-year, $136 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys, tying him to the franchise until the 2029 season. With Dak Prescott also signing a contract extension before the regular season, the Cowboys have their star offensive players together for a long time.

This season, Lamb has amassed 880 receiving yards, 79 receptions and four touchdowns. Even though he's on pace to easily cross the 1,000-yard mark, there's a sharp decline from the 2023 season, where he finished with 1,749 receiving yards, 12 touchdowns and 135 catches. That's his true potential: as part of the elite.
