Following Joe Mixon's exit in the offseason, the Cincinnati Bengals did not sign a superstar to replace him and instead put faith in former Indianapolis Colts running back Zach Moss and Chase Brown, their fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft.
The veteran was the starter until he suffered a neck injury against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8, thrusting the sophomore star into the spotlight in the Bengals' Week 9 outing against the Las Vegas Raiders. The promotion did not faze the 24-year-old running back, as he showcased he was up for the task with a stellar performance.
Brown rushed for 120 yards on 27 carries and caught five passes for 37 yards and a touchdown in Cincinnati's 41-24 win over Las Vegas. The Bengals were hoping he could replicate his heroics in their Thursday Night Football clash against divisional rivals Baltimore Ravens.

While he did not have a game as prolific as his performance against the Raiders, he did have an impactful outing in the Bengals' narrow 35-34 loss.
Chase Brown stats vs. Ravens on TNF in Week 10
Here are Chase Brown's numbers from that epic duel between the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens.
- Carries: 18
- Rushing yards: 42
- Rushing touchdowns: 1
- Receptions: 9
- Receiving yards: 52
- Receiving touchdowns: 0
The rookie had an impactful start to the game as he carried the ball four times for eight yards, including the one-yard touchdown run, that commenced the scoring fest.
Brown struggled to make an impact on the ground and the 42 rushing yards that he finished with were the fourth-fewest he has managed in a game in this season. However, he was critical in the passing game as he caught nine passes for 52 yards, the second-most for a Bengals player on the night behind Ja'Marr Chase, who finished with 11 catches for 264 yards.
It was his most prolific game of the season as a receiver and the second-best of his career. However, it wasn't enough, as the Bengals lost by a point and fell to 4-6.
