Washington Commanders star defensive end Chase Young suffered a horrific ACL injury last year against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since then, Chase hasn't returned to the field. However, there was optimism around the Commanders' camp in the preseason that Young would be back around this time of the season.

The Washington Commanders will face the Green Bay Packers in Week 7 and Young, unfortunately, is still quite far from making his season debut.

As per John Keim of ESPN:

"Chase Young has to see Dr. Andrews again and then they'll have a better feel for his timetable of returning. Rivera should find out shortly when Young will see Andrews."

With Chase Young still far away from making his return for the Commanders, the team is expected to miss the playoffs. They haven't had a great start to the season, and another injury (to quarterback Carson Wentz) has made matters worse for them.

The Washington Commanders are currently 2-4, and they have a tough run of fixtures ahead. Rushing Young back from injury won't be a good idea for the franchise as they aren't going anywhere and are expected to aim for a good draft pick next year to improve their roster.
