Chase Young is a professional American footballer who plays in the National Football League as a defensive end for the Washington Commanders. His professional career in the NFL started in the year 2020 when he was selected by the Washington Redskins in the draft of NFL 2020.

After being selected by the Washington Redskins Chase signed a deal for five years of worth $34.56 million. Chase made his official NFL debut in a match against the Philadelphia Eagles where he recorded 1.5 sacks, four tackles, and a forced fumble. In a match against the San Francisco 49ers he became the first rookie in NFL history to record a sack, two passes defended, a forced fumble, and a fumble and a touchdown. He finished the 2020 season with 7.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries.

In the 2021 season in a match against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Young injured his knee. It was later revealed that due to the knee injury, he will need to have surgery. This ended his 2021 season and in the entire season, he recorded 21 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. In 2023 the Washington Commanders refused to utilize the fifth year option in Young's Contract.

Before coming into the NFL Young played college football with Ohio State. Young finished his freshman year with 3.5 sacks, 18 tackles, and a forced fumble. He was named the team captain in 2019 his junior season. In a match against Wisconsin, Young made a school record when he recorded 4 sacks, and 5 tackles in a single match. He ended his junior year with 6.5 sacks, 46 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, and 7 forced fumbles. After having a successful junior year Young announced that he would not be playing in his senior year and will instead enter the NFL draft of 2020.
