Zacch Pickens' injury update
According to CBS Sports, Zacch Pickens has been ruled out of the Bears' Week 5 game against the Panthers. The defensive lineman is dealing with a groin issue.
That means Pickens will miss his third consecutive game as he continues to recover from the groin injury he suffered during the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Houston Texans. Andrew Billings will replace Pickens for today's game.
Terell Smith's injury update
According to CBS Sports, Terell Smith is officially out of Sunday's game against Carolina. The defensive back is dealing with a hip injury and hasn't recovered sufficiently to play in a regular-season game.
According to the Bears' injury report, Smith did not practice all week after missing Chicago's Week 4 win over the Rams. Hence, it's not much of a surprise that he won't play in Sunday's contest. Tyrique Stevenson will start in Smith’s place today.
DeAndre Carter's injury update
According to CBS Sports, DeAndre Carter is dealing with an injury to his ribs. The wide receiver presumably suffered the injury in his team's victory over the Rams in Week 4.
Carter missed the first practice of the week but appeared in a limited capacity in the other two sessions. He's currently questionable for the game against the Panthers. Velus Jones Jr. and Tyler Scott are poised to step up if Carter is unable to feature.
Teven Jenkins' injury update
According to the Chicago Bears' injury report, Teven Jenkins is questionable for Sunday's game. The offensive lineman missed Wednesday's practice session but participated in Thursday and Friday's sessions.
Jenkins suffered an injury to his ribs in Week 4 against the Rams. His availability looks to be a game-time decision. Bill Murray is poised to step up if Jenkins is unable to feature.
