The Chicago Bears were eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday when the Washington Commanders, who had defeated them via a last-second Hail Mary in the "Madhouse in Maryland". Now, they would playing for mere pride from hereon in.
On Monday, they visited the Minnesota Vikings, fresh off routing the Atlanta Falcons late in former quarterback Kirk Cousins' Minneapolis homecoming and still very much in contention for the NFC North title. Who between them won?

Disaster struck the Bears to begin the game, as they committed a turnover on downs on their opening drive, which the Vikings punished with a field goal. Then more disaster struck, as Caleb Williams lost possession on a sack from Jonathan Greenard, which turned into a touchdown by Justin Jefferson:
The Vikings then forced a punt on the next drive, but then disaster struck, as Tyrique Stevenson intercepted Sam Darnold off of a fourth-down pressure. However, the Bears lost possession on downs again when a field goal could have sufficed - and were punished for it with another field goal.
The second half began with both teams exchanging punts on the first three drives - a drought that ended with Cairo Santos scoring a field goal for the Bears’ first points of the night. However, Aaron Jones rushed into the endzone to increase the lead to 17.
Santos scored another field goal on the Bears’ next drive, but Cam Akers rushed to the endzone to increase the lead to 21.
Both teams exchanged punts on the next two drives, but the Bears blocked the Vikings’ attempt and recovered the ball deep in enemy territory, allowing Williams to find Keenan Allen for their first six. However, DJ Moore failed to connect on the two-pointer.
The Bears then gambled on an onside kick but failed to retrieve it, effectively ending the game. Still, the Vikings scored a field goal on the ensuing drive. Tyson Bagent eventually came in to finish the game.
