The Chicago Bears named offensive coordinator Thomas Brown as interim coach after firing head coach Matt Eberflus following six consecutive defeats. From Sunday's Week 14 game against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium till the end of the regular season, Brown knows he has a challenging task ahead of him.

The Niners (5-7) are only two games behind the top slot in the NFC West and 2.5 games behind the seventh seed in the NFC. As a result, Sunday's matchup between two teams that are still hoping to qualify for the playoffs will be intriguing.

Bears injury report for Week 14

Due to quad injuries, the Chicago Bears' top rusher, D'Andre Swift and top wide receiver, DJ Moore, are questionable for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

While they are the only players ruled questionable on the team's final injury report on Friday, Chicago has ruled out three players for its Week 14 game.

The three players that have already been ruled out for the game are offensive lineman Ryan Bates (concussion), defensive back Elijah Hicks (ankle) and running back Roschon Johnson (concussion).

Despite being listed on the Bears' practice report this week, offensive lineman Darnell Wright, center Coleman Shelton and safety Kevin Byard have been cleared to play after logging full practice participation on Friday.

D'Andre Swift injury update

Due to a quad injury, running back D'Andre Swift is designated as questionable for Sunday's Week 14 game at Levi's Stadium.

Prior to his limited participation on Friday, Swift was not active in any of the practice sessions this week. It appears the practice volume he logged on Friday is not for him to avoid an injury designation.

The Bears will need Swift on hand on Sunday because backup running back Roschon Johnson has already been ruled out due to a concussion. However, Chicago will have to start Travis Homer at running back against San Francisco if Swift is eventually unable to play.

DJ Moore injury update

Wide receiver DJ Moore made a limited comeback to the practice field on Friday after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to a quad ailment.

Moore had a quad injury during the Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions, but he expressed optimism that he will be able to play in a few days.

The star receiver was designated questionable on Chicago's final injury report on Friday. We probably won't know if he will play until 90 minutes before kickoff when the Bears announce their inactives.

Keenan Allen injury update

After missing practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, the Bears welcomed wide receiver Keenan Allen back to the practice field on Thursday.

Allen may have missed practice on Wednesday due to maintenance after reportedly rolling his ankle during a workout session last month. He logged another full practice participation on Friday and was taken off the injury report after.
